THE CONCEPT

Guardian angels are believed to watch over the oak barrels used to age wines or spirits. Some of the alcohol seeps through the grain of the oak staves and evaporates, and this is known as the Angels’ Share.

Deeply embedded in the Freewheeling ethos is the idea of a gifting economy; where knowledge, ideas, labour and time are given freely and generously by all involved. Your participation in this collaborative generosity can be just as fulfilling. One avenue for this is the ‘Angels’ Share’ contribution mechanism – a committed regular payment that will help ensure Freewheeling’s capacity to continue to provide this future-thinking forum and annual festival, plus the ‘more’ that’s waiting in the wings…
